Welcome

So now I'm in Edinburgh for a week, as a Commissioner to the General Assembly of the Church of Scotland. This is a new experience for me. I wondered if it might be a little like those new SNP MPs going down to Westminster... but I think I might get a friendlier welcome and more polite debate. Tonight's Welcome Evening for new Commissioners went well. We were given a tour of the building, told what to expect during debates, how to use the microphones and how to vote. Then there was wine and nibbles and social chit chat. Tomorrow the business starts at 9.30am.
