I Am Not Worthy
Considering I've not explored this place until today when I stumbled upon it on the way to a teaching session on campus.
Also, the fact that it occupies several acres surrounded by the whole campus. Mind, it is very hidden and chatting to colleagues later, I'm not alone.
As the Leeds Civic Trust blue plaque says:
"Alarmed by the insanitary and overcrowded state of the Parish Church graveyard and bodysnatching, the Leeds élite bought £25 shares in the Leeds General Cemetery Company. It acquired St George’s Fields and created this fine private cemetery, where many Leeds worthies lie."
