Linden
Often called basswood, Tilia americana, is often used along streets in this town. This one is in our yard. The flowers seen here are attractive to bees, one reason why I planted it in the first place. We no longer keep bees, but the tree is a welcome addition to anyone's yard with its pleasing, pyramidal or conical shape. The flowers are subtended by a lighter green colored bract. The bracts are conspicuous when the tree is seen from a distance.
Today has been showery and we have had a decent rain of over half an inch.
Thank you so much for all the appreciation of the early morning mist. I have never seen it quite like that before.
