The world at our feet

Tonight there is a very tired dog at our house. 

Unfortunately two ticks managed to bite her today :( 
And I wasn't able to pull them out properly with the stupid tick tweezers and both heads are still in :( :( :( 
What do dog owners recommend, vet or disinfect and wait?
