Footpath Fairies

Only the maddest hardiest volunteers turn up when pouring rain is forecast to build board-walks over muddy streams.  The rain started in earnest at lunch time while we ate our packed lunches sheltering under a tree. One board-walk completed but another still to do -  can we be bothered? - it is pouring, yes let’s just get on with it.  When the locals come out tomorrow for a walk after sheltering at home today in front of their TV, or curled up with a book, they will think the footpath fairies have been out.
