Sheer Rock

I took this photo on the side of a major highway in northwest Arkansas. I am always amazed by the vertical lines showing where the drills and rods were used to clear a section of solid rock to make a road through part of a mountain, and the horizontal lines that show strata of rock.. There is a similar wall on the opposite side of the road.  The discolorations that are darker on the lower section are from dripping water.  I beg your patience in my limited comments during this busy  time including driving on this trip that is 17 1/2 hours each way.
