Kawaii Star Wars

One of the great things about Japan is the Cult of Kawaii (cute) which allows females and males of all ages to dangle all kinds of cute decorations from their mobile phones and bags. Kawaii extends to behaviour, with women feigning childlike giggles and speech and young men shaving their legs to become androgynous and kawaii is epitomised by Kitty-chan. Last night we played bingo at home and I completed my set of kawaii Star Wars decorations from a recent Pepsi campaign. This may be somewhat excessive for a man's briefcase but who cares? Gaijin (foreigners) can get away with being eccentric. Actually, I think it's a prerequisite for being allowed to stay in Japan.
