Sustenance

Book club tonight and the host is notorious for offering a tomato and a lettuce leaf.

Given that I didn't even get to my sandwich at lunchtime and the prospect of a glass of wine or two I thought it might be prudent to have a wee bowl of rib coating butternut soup.

Wise choice as supper consisted of of grapes and the odd cocktail sausage.

Haut cuisine it was not.
