Another walking day today, but we found Elwin's map, so all will be well! At 1,705 feet above sea level, Dunkery Beacon is the highest point in Somerset. Dunkery is ranked 23rd in the UK in terms of dominance and is a Marilyn, meaning that it is a peak with 150 metres or more in height. The views are glorious, the Bristol Channel, the Severn Bridge, Gloucestershire, the Brecon Beacons, Bodmin Moor & Dartmoor all visible from the Beacon. I very rarely get Mrs K in any blip so chuffed to get this one! Then on to Tarr Steps, an ancient clapper bridge. Stunning views & stunning lunch too! And Elwin & Sue, if you're still reading, an easy spot for you (I think) in the extra picture.
