Fiddleheads

Found these delectable goodies growing by the Grand River in Cambridge. Not quite ready to be picked, but oh, they have my mouth watering. One of the best, and now most expensive, parts of spring. My grandfather used to go out each spring and gather shopping bags full. He could have made a fortune at today's prices. Things sure change. I grew up eating fresh lobster, the main staple of our diet. It was considered poor man's food then, for those too poor to buy bologna and weiners lol.
