these cygnets are just hours old and I believe this was their first outing onto water. The extra shot shows them on the nest along with a broken shell.

Both parents were caring for them on the nest (the father being yesterdays blip). The mother led them onto the water with the father taking guard and chasing off canadian geese within yards of them. When the mother went back to the nest a few minutes later 2 cygnets went with her but the dad enjoyed his turn taking the other 4 for a good swim around.

I the #BTCB the blue tits continue to be first class parents and the 6chicks are growing by the day. 

This is such a lovely time of year.
