Are you aware ?
It's International Fibromyalgia Awareness Day today. Like the familiar pink Breast Cancer ribbon, fibromyalgia has its own ribbon, which is purple.
If you don't know much about fibromyalgia, please take a few minutes to look at the link.
This is a nasty " hidden " illness. I say hidden because sufferers often look perfectly well, though they may be suffering severe muscle pain or weakness, disturbed sleep or fuddled thinking on a daily basis.
Once you have fibromyalgia, you have it for life. There's no cure, and no particular treatment, apart from pain management. It's not a diagnosis you want to be given.
Sadly it's the diagnosis my daughter was given ten years ago, when she was seventeen. I'm proud of the way she and her boyfriend deal with it.
Today's blip is from a patch of bluebells that have appeared in a light lavender colour, the nearest thing to purple I've seen today.
Thank you for reading this :)
