As days go - I've had better ..
I was to go out in the morning on a special bird group trip but mum was very, very odd in the morning - I've never seen her like it before, so I couldn't go out.
At lunchtime she was much improved so when her 'babysitter' arrived I went out for a break.
Last Bank Holiday the police had rung me to say the residents of the area I go bird watching frequently were very concerned about my presence.. it's pretty remote and there have recently been burglaries. I explained why I was there (doing wildlife photography) and they were perfectly happy.
The next time I went I followed a woman to her home after she'd given me a dirty look and explained to her what I was up to and she was very friendly .. half a mile further down the road I tried to have a pleasant word with an old man who was taking a great deal of interest in what I was doing. He was extraordinarily unpleasant, kept calling me an idiot and talked about punching me!
Today I was there again .. a lady (Pam) and her husband were standing in their driveway - so again, in a bid to stop people being concerned about me I decided to have a chat with them. As we were talking, a woman drove up, got out of her car and absolutely laid into me .. quite convinced I was in cahoots with two men who also drove my van (????) I couldn't get a word in edgeways.
She claims to have photos of these men driving my van - but wouldn't show me as she's keeping them 'as evidence' for the police. She forbade me from parking next to any houses out there (I never do, unless invited, as I was today) .. in fact I think she's pretty much forbidden me from parking anywhere. I was a sobbing wreck by the end of her rant ... it's been a pretty crap day from the outset - and Pam kindly took pity on me and invited me in for a calming coffee. She's a wildlife photographer too - and a very nice person - hoorah!
But apart from meeting Pam - this has been a day I would rather forget.
Another day, another rant.
A red legged partridge taken before I was bullied into submission by a mad Italian woman.
