Jumping for joy
A demonstration of pent-up energy from Duke. His idea of going for a walk is to grab the lead in his mouth and start a tug of war. It's hard work getting him down our long, steep drive - I think I get more exercise than he does, and my knees weren't too impressed.
Still, relations between him and Kayla continue to improve, though she seems a little daunted by his excess of energy - as our previous dog was with hers.
Nearly a nasty accident as we were packing up to return to Rio - Duke was chained to the table leg, to stop him from getting into the car or going off hunting, and the chain got wrapped round HH's leg as he went past. HH fell to a sitting position, but happily, apart from some bloody and evil-looking surface wounds around his ankles, suffered no serious ill-effects. Rather daunting to think what might have happened, though.
Why do I keep on adopting these problem dogs?
