Early bloomers

These Virginia Blue Bells (Mertensia virginica) are the first flowers we see around here.  I don't have much luck with bulbs - I usually get the leaves popping up but they never progress to flowering.  So when I see the blue bells peeking out of the ground, I know that finally there will be some color in the flower beds. 


Today was lovely - warm, breezy, sunny.  Mr M is off work for the week so he's in his glory, catching up on lots of chores.
