First time at the beach

Jonty loved the beach, never been to a beach in his life. He ran and ran up and down the sand really enjoying himself. Foxy would have as well but we left him with Dhylan for the couple of days because he really doesn't like travelling in the car and it's a 300 mile drive from Gloucester to South Shields, which is the town where I was born and brought up until I joined the RAF at 16.
I took lots and lots of photographs but we liked the way this one caught the Northern pier light flashing. That is Tynemouth on the Northern side of the harbour. 3 of the 'Lots and Lots' are in the 'Extra Photos' bit.
Two piers, the Southern one being the longest at a whole 1 mile long. It has a red light (just about visible) shining out to sea to indicate the starboard pier to incoming ships. The Northern one has a green tinge for the port side. You can't make it out in this photo but there is a red bouy in the middle of the harbour with a red flashing light to indicate the deep channel.
This is the harbour that has seen the launch of such giants as Esso Northumbria and other large ships in the past. Still some ship repairs but none of the massive industry of shipbuilding that was known in South Shields in the past.
