Drumming

A field trip to YWT site "Askham Bog " Nature Reserve, saw seven members and  one partner from Stamford Bridge Photography  Group on the board walks looking for flora and fauna. We were greeted by a Robin who posed so close that those of us who had gone for big telephoto zooms couldn't capture him. I am sure he expected to be fed in return. The big lens came into its own for our next encounter the drumming Woodpecker seen above. The light sadly went very flat very quickly and allied with a strong wind made capturing the plants very difficult. We also saw at distance a Deer and one of the native ponies who are part of the management of the site. As we left and having changed to a smaller light friendly lens I captured the rather bloodied Robin in Extras !
