The Spirit of '45

I am spending the weekend in London to celebrate my best friends 40th birthday. After checking into the hotel we headed across the river to Whitehall to see the VE Day 70th celebrations, which included the wreath layer ceremony at the Cenotaph. In the crowd I found myself surrounded by a group of people who had come down dressed in 1940's clothing.

After the ceremony, as the crowds dispersed, some of the group were posing for pictures, so I managed to grab a couple of shots, which I think summed up the spirit of the day 70 years ago.
