Flights of Fancy

Dear Diary,

I am fortunate to have several friends who are excellent photographers.  This image is by Bradford Fuller who also does my fine art printing.  I bought this piece, and one other,  at his show yesterday.  He does amazing images of birds in flight which are stunning in their detail and ethereal presentation.  He is an artist with the photographic medium.  I've added another of his birds as my extra photograph today.

He also creates beautiful floral mandalas.  I have my eye on his white dahlia piece.  What inspires me most in Brad's work is his constant experimentation.  He tries new things, untested things.  He is always open to new ideas.  That is something I try to pursue in my own work.  There is no "right" way to make a photograph. I try to remember that I am an artist first; an artist who just happens to use a camera as her tool. Technology has opened the flood gates of creative expression and it is important to not be restricted in how you apply it to your images.
