Historical Clam
Clam is an impressive castle which stands atop a steep rocky outcrop. Due to good fortune, an "crooked elbow-shaped" entrance and a 500 year old metal-covered door it was never captured and is remarkably well preserved.
Clam is also a village where traditional customs are kept, one being celebrated at the start of May. A 40m pole is covered in beautiful paper flowers and greenery (made by the women) and then raised by traditional methods (by the yound men). Despite the rain, the brass band played, the beer flowed and the whole village came out to celebrate.
