1980 Peugeot PKN10E “Competition” Bicycle

 
My friend from high school days is an avid cyclist and triathlon competitor.
We’ve often discussed his very fine Peugeot road bike that he purchased new back in 1980.
He rode his Peugeot daily for many years, but then one day a new Cannondale bicycle came home with him.
Alas, the Peugeot has languished in his attic for the last 15 years.
He knows how much I love to restore much loved old machines.
He asked if I might be willing to work on the Peugeot to get it back on its tires again.
Of course, I jumped at the chance to work on this bike.
My friend packed it up and sent it off to me here in Oregon.
After it arrived, he informed me that it is a gift to me.
This exquisite machine is the bike I longed for as a twenty-something.
Amazingly, it has finally come to me as a sixty-something through the generosity of a dear friend.

I marvel at my good fortune.
