Happy and Glorious

Her Majesty the Queen's Diamond Jubilee - Day 2
Up bright and early this morning to ensure a front row place for today's Diamond Jubilee celebrations, the Thames River Pageant.
Was riverside by 8am and thankfully, the constant drizzle paused for about an hour just as the first few hundred of the 1,000 strong flotilla passed our spot by Vauxhall Bridge.

Despite the weather and the fact that the big screens were on the other side of the river, we kept ourselves amused and our spirits up.
Champagne corks popped, Mexican waves were started and impromptu renditions of 'God Save the Queen' were sung heartily.
Those who were there early offered our seats to those standing behind so they could rest their legs while we stretched ours. Chocolate and other nibbles were shared amongst new found friends, as were newspaper and magazine pages with word searches and crosswords to keep each other entertained during the 7 hour wait.

All in all, a happy and glorious day.
