Liberation day!
Marking 70 years since the end of the German occupation of the Channel Islands.
At 11am there was a re-enactment of the flag raising; where the Union flag was raised for the first time in 5 years, replacing the swastika.
Later there was a celebration within the People's park, where the Jersey flag got hoisted upside down accidentally.
In the evening there was a lighting of the freedom beacon, before an impressive fireworks display above Elizabeth Castle.
This was a special day.
