GONE

Photographed in 1993 when I stayed here for the festival of Dashain when throughout Nepal people worship the goddess Shakti in all her manifestations. This time is known for its emphasis on family gatherings, as well as on a renewal of community ties. People return from all parts of the world, as well as different parts of the country, to celebrate together. This house was relegated to an animal shelter when a new house was built  but both are now a pile of rubble and the family are surviving under a tarpaulin
