Requiem for a goldfinch

It's Mother's Day in the USA...and it's raining, so no long bike ride. 
 
I have a sick son, and a sick grandson, so no big family cook-outs.

And it was the end of the line for this little goldfinch...all that is left are a few feathers and a bit of down.

I'm thinking a hawk had a happy Mother's day, anyway!!

No matter what we do today, I am blessed with children and grandchildren to make any mother's heart full.   I'm wishing the happiest of days to all of the wonderful women out there!!!
