Lollipop Lady...

The saga of the unofficial crossing continues. It's been there for over 50 years and because its the obvious place for many people to cross the road even when they tried to put up chains to stop people crossing there, they simply stepped over the chains.

But in the continued pursuit of making this island unfriendly to pedestrians the States won't make it an official crossing; though it is now signed and painted to look (almost) like an official crossing. But there was fear that someone would get injured at busy times so now the Police have to man the crossing when cruise ships are in. She must be the best paid lollipop lady on the planet!
