Walk For Freedom

Today I was volunteering as a Marshall for a sponsored walk in aid of Yeldall Manor, a Drug and Alcohol Rehab centre in Berkshire.  Yeldall was started by my parents in the late 70s and I am now on the Trustees.  Money raised today will go towards the Bursary Fund.

There were two groups of walkers.  This first group started in the morning in Wallingford and walked 27 miles, mostly along the Thames path to Yeldall Manor in Wargrave.  The second group joined them at lunchtime in Pangbourne and walked the remaining 15 miles.

It was a perfect day - a bit chilly and grey in the morning, but it warmed up and we had quite a bit of sun in the afternoon.  But it wasn't too hot and there was NO rain!  These were a brave group of people - I can't imagine walking that far!
The ages of the walkers ranged from 11 to 72 - everyone made it without dropping out and we didn't lose anyone!

I've added a few 'extra photos' and even more pictures in this Flickr album.
