In the pink

Thought I'd go for something uncontroversial today.  Androsace sarmentosa, planted 23 years ago as a single rosette and still going strong.  The stem bearing these bright flowers rises from a tuft of softly hairy leaves.  It makes many strawberry-like runners each bearing a little plantlet at the end.  Over the years, despite being dug up and moved twice, my plant has made a mat over 30cm across with many flowering stems.  You may notice some flowers have a yellow eye, others dark pink.  This is a signal for pollinators - the colour changes from yellow to pink after pollination.
