setting out

Lakeland Trails, Staveley today.
Son ran the 10k (actually 11.6K) and finished 9th, whilst Mr Rat and I marshalled and then I removed (very muddy) timing chips.
I then ran the 17k (actually 18k) Challenge and Mr Rat did the same distance race starting 50mins later, I managed to finish well ahead.
Lovely scenic route, quite a bit of climbing and lots of mud and surface water after all the rain overnight - but none from the sky, and we even had a little sunshine. Son was marshalling whilst we did this and he had to deal with a casualty.
Time about 2hrs 17mins which I was very pleased with considering this was the longest distance since 1987.
This pic was of the 10k runners starting out.
