Why I hate Windows

I reinstalled Windows on a laptop donated to the charity I support. After several hours it was still trying to catch up on Windows updates. The screen shot shows that the update process has tried to use 5GB of memory on a PC with just 2GB of real memory. I know it's an old version of Windows on an old PC, but really it ought still to be possible to do a clean install without it hanging. Grrr!
