Coming and Going
We have two robin's nests in the ivy clad wall just outside the backdoor. The two nests are only a few feet apart. Yesterday the little uns in one of the nests fledged and are now secreted under bushes and tubs.
Meanwhile in the other nest the eggs have hatched and the parents are busy feeding the young. Although this is a poor shot, with neither bird in focus, it captures just how busy the parent birds are and all the comings and goings.
Today we had our second get together for members of the new bell ringing band. We are all learning at different towers around the county. We have certainly all made progress in the last few months.
We heard today that work should start on our tower sometime in July. However the mortar will need six months to cure before we can ring the bells so it is anticipated that it will be a year before our bells can be rung. Things do move quite slowly in the bell ringing world. But at least that gives us more time to reach a level of competence.
