May
Ne'er cast a clout till May be out.
This is an old English proverb warning against shedding any layers of Winter clothing till the May flowers bloom.
This is a May flower from a hawthorn bush by the canal near where we live. It's well and truly 'out' so feel free to discard your vests, liberty bodices and any other items of clothing you've been wearing all Winter. I think I might just be keeping my 'clouts' on for a bit longer yet. The wind was a bid cold today.
