Wanderings & Witterings

Steady she goes!

Our Tuesday walk with the Ramblers being somewhat on the damp side - and, as a result, not very conducive to photography although I did manage to post something online - I returned to Kirkintilloch on Wednesday evening to retrace part of the route.

As I ambled along, alone with my thoughts, it came to mind that the electioneering which had plagued us for five or six weeks was nearly at an end. Thankfully.

Thursday would be decision day and the politicians would be silenced (for a few hours at least).

Watching the Luggie Water flowing alongside the path, I wondered where the past few weeks had gone; it had all been a bit of a blur and I reckoned that few, if any, of the claims and counter-claims and promises would be remembered when we came to put our 'X' on the ballot paper.

I also wondered whether we were in for turbulent times ahead. The polls and many of the commentators seemed to suggest so. Or would we be like the rock in the photo - unmoved while all around was chaos?
