Red(ish), White & Blue(ish)

We have been baking today in preparation for tomorows afternoon tea party. The cakes didn't quite go according to plan, hence the title! I had high hopes for cupcakes towered high with red, white & blue buttercream. But there were a few hitches.......I had decided to go for a fruity topping using raspberries & blueberries but the colours didn't turn out how I wanted, this then resulted in the icing now being too runny to pipe on & we didn't have anymore icing sugar. For the white chocolate buttercream........I burnt the chocolate! Apart from that they have turned out perfect but me and mum have had giggles in the kitchen as it went from one disater to the next!
