Stirling Castle.

We have spent most of the afternoon watching the Jubilee flotilla on the Thames. I have only one mini-grouse; oh how I wish the various TV commentators and armchair experts would just shut up! I have seldom heard such utter drivel and there were several obvious mistakes!
Knowing that we would be going square-eyed this afternoon, we were out quite sharp to see what we could see. We found some (most!) of the boats from the Forth Flotilla moored at the Stirling Rowing Club. I suspect that they would not be able to all head off back downstream until high tide around noon and we did not much fancy hanging around. I did think the castle looming over the city made quite a decent backdrop.
Sadly the flypast over the Thames has been cancelled and the fireworks on Tower Bridge were a wee bit of a damp squib but I think the whole thing went rather well.
I bet HM will be glad to get back to B.P. and get her feet up for a while!
