Fire Trail

As I've driven along the highway between Medlow Bath and Blackheath in the Blue Mountains, on the northern side of the highway there is a wide fire trail/catchment area that runs all the way between the two towns.  On each side of the cleared area are lovely native gum trees, including Mountain  Ash Trees, together with other native bushes & undergrowth.  However in one small section I've noticed some non-native deciduous trees - particularly in the Autumn months, because the branches of yellow, orange, red & brown leaves really stand out against the native Mount Ash Trees.  This morning I finally dropped in to explore the small area.  Unfortunately, most of the leaves on the deciduous trees had been already stripped by recent heavy rain and a hail storm, and this was the only one left with Autumn leaves on it.  I must get back in there earlier next Autumn and take a wider view which highlights the stark contrast between the deciduous and the natives.

Now that I've done my best to cure you insomnia with such a boring tale......I'm off!
