Opening nicely.....

my extra photo is the back view of a barn owl which flew in front and around us as we drove into the village to vote.  

I just happened to have my compact camera with me, whether it would have been better with my SLR I will never know.  

We have both seen a barn owl out during daylight hours in the last week so maybe there will be other opportunities.
