View from the veranda

For one reason and another - too long a story - decided the place we stayed in last night wasn't really were I wanted to spend 7 nights, so scrolling through Booking, found a great deal for 5 nights just along the road in Gialova, a villa with its own private pool set on the hillside amongst olive, lemon, orange, lime and fig trees, overlooking the stunning Voidikallea Bay. This is the view from the veranda. We actually stayed in another villa on this hillside way back in 2005!

It was interesting walking into the village to see what changes have happened. It's still very peaceful but there are more restaurants now, and Hotel Zoe right on the beach now calls itself a resort! It has modernised and added a wing or two! We ate there for lunch with tables sitting amongst the trees for shade - lovely....

Back into Pylos for tea to a Taverna and then we met a couple from New Hampshire in the States and chatted about their tour of the Greek Islands.

A lovely long sleep in - the only noise were dogs barking at each other further down the valley!
