A Moment of Common Enchantment

Dear Diary,

It has been an absolutely beautiful week.  Today it will be back in the 80's.  It has been so uplifting.  This morning a ray of sunlight came in the breakfast room window and hit the old oil lamp I got from my dear Aunt Doris.  It created this amazing arc of light on the wall.  I have never seen this before in the 20 years I've lived here.  I changed the table it usually sits on recently and this made the light hit it just right.

The little pile of slides you see on the corner of the table are from my 1990 trip to England.  My first big overseas adventure.  I will try to find a place to convert them to digital files.  This July will be the 25th anniversary of that trip and I want to create an album.  I originally had 6 boxes of slides but I have managed to locate only three.  I find it strange to look at myself 25 years younger.  I went on that trip because I had turned 40 the year before and wanted to do something special.  I did the same last year when I turned 65 with my month long trip to Ireland and Scotland.

What this photograph shows is that wonderful moments of enchantment can be had anywhere as long as we keep our hearts open to experience what comes our way everyday...they are all worthy of our attention.
