Poetry in the windows

This is India Buildings in Victoria Street in the centre of Edinburgh. It used to be the central registry office for Edinburgh and L and I got married there in September 1996. It's been empty for while as plans are drawn up to renovate the building as part of a cultural quarter based around the central library that is just round the corner. They recently announced that it will be a Fringe venue this summer. Not quite sure how long the poetry has been up there, but been meaning to photograph it for a while. I was on my way to the Netherbow theatre (aka the Scottish Storytelling Centre) where L was acting in a play called 'A Most Curious Detour' based on the autobiography of a stroke victim, Stuart Hepburn, and adapted for the stage by our friend A. After his stoke, Stuart suffered from locked-in syndrome as he struggled to communicate with those around him, but now he uses a laptop communication device to expresses his thoughts. He was there at the performance, along with his wife, to see themselves portrayed on stage.

Backblipped as we went out for a few drinks afterwards...
