Devil's Bridge

Kirkby Lonsdale.
Very wet morning and so did some shopping and visited a farm shop that was also a craft centre and tea room. (we had thought of going to Sizergh Castle but it didn't open until noon).
After early lunch we headed for Kirkby Lonsdale and had a pleasant circular walk through fields and by the river. At one point the book said we had to share the path with a stream bed - but the stream wasn't doing any sharing! Good job we'd put on walking boots.
The rain stopped not long into the walk and we even had patches of sun. There were loads of flowers and birds and watching the swallows over the river was amazing - they shone bright blue in the sunshine.
This evening we went across the road to the pub for a tasty meal.
There's a legend attached to the bridge which involves a woman tricking the devil.
