Mallard Ducklings So Cute!

We have several sets of new babies visiting our patio each day to raid the leftovers from the bird feeders.  All the seed that gets spilled is readily available for the ducks.  They are sure fast...I tried to get out there to take a few photos, and they can travel so fast trying to escape.  Hopefully they will survive!

They have removed so many of the reeds and bushes that once encircled the pond, so it's harder and harder for them to find cover.  I loved the reeds, and the sounds of the red-winged blackbirds who frequent them.  All in the name of "beautification"???  Or are they trying to discourage the ducks from setting up house?
