Dame Jennifer

Dame Jennifer Jenkins is a wonderful, impressive lady. She was Chair of the National Trust, Chair of the Consumer Council, President of the Friends of Hyde Park and Kensington Gardens. And wife of the late Roy Jenkins.

Born in 1921 she is still going strong. Living in a beautiful light and airy mansion flat in Kensington surrounded by memorabilia incuding an Elizabeth Frink sculpture and print and a couple of Ivon Hitchens on the walls.

This is the room that would have hosted discussions about the setting up of the SDP which led on to the Lib Dems. Flies on the wall would have heard some milestone conversations.

It was a real pleasure to meet her and to take her picture.
