An Unsuccessful School Trip
I was given the task today of taking, what was meant to be, three students on a trip to my uni, Surrey, to check out the Tonmeister studios.
First we left late. One student had cancelled and another didn't turn up. So we waited for a bit and then left without him. 10 minutes later we were in the middle of the scene you can see in the photo.
Traffic had completely stopped on the other side of the road due to a coach being on fire. There was also a pretty big crash just on our side of the road, probably due to people looking at the coach fire. Ambulances were trying to sqeeze through the parked cars and helicopters were landing on the motorway. People who were heading to Heathrow to catch a plane were getting out of their cars with their bags and walking to down the motorway to the airport! We didn't move for about 50 minutes, meaning it took us an hour and a half to get to Guildford.
After a quick run round the studios we headed back which took a long time as well due to the crazy amounts of jubilee weekend traffic.
When I got back to Eton I had to run to set up the recording equipment in the chapel for tomorrow's 4th of June concert.
