Shifting sands

It's fair to say that the weather on Harris has been changeable, one day sun, next day rain and wind. All this variation in the weather has created deep channels on the beaches as the water has been flowing down from the hills to the sea. This pattern on the sand was really elaborate and I would know the geological term for this kind of thing - it's been intriguing me all afternoon.
