Kurols
I've turned the corner, aren't flash but good enough to be back at work infecting the world.
Kurols are a curious New Zealand made cough/cold lolly thing. They're as cheap as chips at the supermarket and pack a powerful punch.
Even more curiously they're labelled 'Mentholated Pastilles - Kurols'. This strikes me as oddly quaint from a bye-gone ere, hinting at French mystique and cigarettes.
Other than sugar in various forms (of which I've probably ingested half a kilogram over the past few days) they contain menthol, oil of Eucalyptus, oil of pepperment, oil of aniseed and tincture of benzoin.
Pretty much like having a shot of turps up your nose and into your sinus cavities.
I sucked my way through several today. They stopped me going hoarse and hopefully helped prevent me infecting the rest of the office.
