Lilac Bush

I was restless last night. I woke up several times before the alarm went off.   I was worried about getting up and out of the house early enough to beat the traffic on my way to the courthouse for jury duty.
I got there so early I was the only one in the parking lot!  So, I sat and read the news on my iPad and soon enough cars were filling up the lot.  The morning wasn't too bad.  After watching a short film, the judge came to give us all a little pep talk and then we all settled into reading our books or browsing on our iPads waiting to be called as a potential juror.

Before long they told us we were breaking for lunch and to be back in one hour.  I took a walk and found a place to eat and then I walked around some more since it was so sunny and warm.  It was near 90 degrees but there was a strong breeze that made it feel like I had my hair dryer pointed at my face.  It still felt a lot better than being stuck in the courthouse.
After being back in the courthouse for about an hour, I started to feel sleepy and I was wishing I had stopped for an espresso on the way back from lunch.  Another hour went by and I was seriously considering laying under one of the tables, using my purse as a pillow.  Just then, they made an announcement for all potential jurors to come to the meeting room.  They said that two of the trials that were supposed to need a jury today ended up coming to an agreement and settled.  Therefore, our services were not needed and we were free to go.

I got my espresso, got my car and head on home.  I was outside in my yard with my granddaughter after dinner.  She was blowing bubbles while Dillon tried to eat them and I took some photos of my beautiful lilac plant.  The sweet smell of the flowers was intoxicating.
