Encouragement

We picked 39 pounds of tomatoes today, from the plants in our backyard. Some of the tomatoes were not quite as ripe as we would have liked, but we picked them anyway because the ear worms are starting to seriously damage our tomato crop and because I will be away next week when these tomatoes would be perfectly ripe. We brought a card table out and laid out all the tomatoes that needed a little more ripening, and let them sit out all afternoon. We cooked them all down for sauce this evening, whatever state of ripening they were in at that point. Hopefully those few extra hours in the sun, with no foliage blocking them, helped a little.
