Climbing for Nepal
We spent an enjoyable 3 hours at The Big Rock in Milton Keynes participating in a sponsored climb for the Nepal disaster. The aim is for the folk who use the centre to aggregate their climbs during the day with the aim of climbing the equivalent height of Everest during the day. Wife and three grandchildren (twins of 11 yrs and another aged 8 years) actually climbed (I was there for support and to "child mind" in the pauses). Their total combined climb was 360 metres and when this was added to the running total when we left it stood at 4,660 metres - just over half way. A quite magnificent effort by all who attended. There were well over 50 people climbing when we left so hopefully Everest will have been conquered with time to spare.
If anyone would like to support the climb here is the link to the Just Giving page: www.justgiving.com/bigrockclimbing
Many thanks.
