May is a very confusing month in the matter of public holidays in Embra - today was a UK bank holiday but there's a day later in the month that's a day off only in Scotland (Victoria Day?). Anyway, there was no predicting which places would be open or closed. Valvona & Crolla were fine but Crombies was closed. As was the Vacuum Exchange.

I was very saddened to read yesterday of the demise of that fine Blipdog, Cabot (or Meatbag to his many friends). I found a few blips that he'd featured in - there was a grand blipdog-meet at Hogmanay a few years back, where he met MollieCollie and Juno amongst others, then there was last summer when he got a bit bored when his humans were taking too long shopping at  Stockbridge market . Think the last time we saw him was in February when we were round at F & T's place, snoozing peacefully after hoovering up all the crumbs that the visitors had dropped. My heartfelt condolences to Bignoniodes and Shandonner. Sweet dreams, Blipdog.
